Karigars (Goldsmiths)

The goldsmiths who make and repair for the shop. A karigar is a contact of their own type with a metal account: gold issued to them, gold returned as finished work, wastage allowed, and labour owed. The ledger shows at any time how much metal each karigar holds and how much labour the shop owes.

Switch: Settings > Jewellery > Karigars (Goldsmiths). Permissions: Add Contact for the directory; Custom Orders and Repairs to issue work.

Where it appears

Jewellery shell: Directory > Karigars (Goldsmiths); the karigar pick on custom orders and repairs. POS page: Master > Karigars (Goldsmiths). Report: Karigar Metal & Labour Ledger.

Screens

Karigars directory - the contact list filtered to goldsmiths; add with phone, address, default wastage and labour terms.
Metal transactions - issue and receive entries with metal type, purity, weights, wastage, labour; each optionally linked to the order or repair it belongs to.
Labour payment - the ordinary Payment Out on the karigar's ledger.

Switch it on, put the master behind it in place, then do the first one — in that order, or the first one will not have anything to pick.
